Fit
The InStill fits closer to the Align than the Wunder Train, but with a subtle difference: SmoothCover fabric provides a light sculpting effect that gently smooths the waist, hips, and thighs. It’s not aggressive compression — you won’t feel squeezed or restricted. It’s more like the fabric is holding you with intention rather than simply laying against the skin the way the Align does.
The high-rise waistband sits flat and smooth without any interior seams or drawcords. It’s designed to look clean under fitted tops, and it delivers — no muffin top, no rolling, no visible waistband line. The 25-inch inseam and 0–20 sizing are standard lululemon.
Fabric & Feel
SmoothCover is a 77/23 nylon-Lycra blend that lives between Nulu’s butter-soft weightlessness and Everlux’s structured performance feel. The texture is silky and cool to the touch, with more body and substance than Nulu but significantly softer than Everlux. If you’ve wished the Align had a bit more hold without losing its softness, SmoothCover is the answer.
The fabric has a subtle sheen that looks polished in solid colors, and it photographs well — a detail that matters if you’re choosing these for barre or studio classes. Moisture-wicking is adequate for low-to-moderate sweating but not at the level of Everlux for heavy training.
Durability
SmoothCover holds up better than Nulu but doesn’t match Everlux’s longevity. Expect 12–18 months of regular wear before any pilling appears, primarily at the inner thighs. The fabric resists snagging better than the Align, and the compression maintains its shape through repeated washing. Standard care — cold wash, lay flat to dry — extends the lifespan significantly.
Value
At $108, the InStill sits between the Align ($98) and the Invigorate ($128). The $10 premium over the Align buys you smoothing compression and better durability. If you find the Align too unstructured for anything beyond yoga and the Wunder Train too firm for everyday wear, the InStill occupies that sweet spot.
Who It’s For
The InStill is for yoga practitioners, pilates enthusiasts, and everyday wearers who want more support than the Align offers without crossing into performance-training territory. It’s also an excellent choice for anyone who wants a flattering, smoothing legging that transitions from studio to errands seamlessly.
