For cold-weather outdoor training or air-conditioned studios, this is a non-issue. For hot yoga, outdoor summer running, or any high-sweat activity in warm conditions, the reduced airflow becomes noticeable. These are better classified as moderate-climate or indoor performance leggings.
Durability
Fabletics uses quality fabrics and construction for the price, and the PowerHold line is no exception. The high elastane content maintains its compression and recovery over time better than lower-elastane blends. The waistband retains its shape and doesn’t stretch out after repeated wearing and washing. Colors stay vibrant across multiple machine wash cycles when washed cold and tumble-dried on low.
The only common durability complaint is pilling on the inner thighs with heavy use — a problem shared by virtually every legging with significant compression fabric. This is more of a fabric reality than a brand-specific failure.
Value
The PowerHold’s value story is complicated by Fabletics’ VIP membership model. At full retail ($54), these are a fair but unremarkable buy — competitive but not exceptional. Under the VIP program, where members receive monthly credits and two-for-one deals during introductory periods, the effective price drops to $25–27 per pair, which is extraordinary for this quality level.
If you’re a serious activewear buyer who can manage the monthly subscription responsibly (skipping months when you don’t want to buy), the value is genuinely hard to match in the market. If subscriptions stress you out or you prefer one-time purchases, the full retail price is acceptable but not the best deal for the quality.
